Introductin: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of Take Action Program on redacting the Clinical symptoms of preschool children with Anxiety Disorder (AD).
Method: This was a semi-experimental research with pretest, post-test design and follow-up with a control group. The statistical population of the research was children aged 5 to 6 years with anxiety in Gorgan and their mothers, of whom Twenty-seven children were selected using Purposive Sampling as a research sampel and randomly allocated into experimental and control groups. The Take Action program was conducted in 8 sessions for children and 4 training separate sessions for parents in expremental group. In order to evaluate the effect of intervention at the beginning, end of treatment and the follow-up stage, the preschool anxiety scale was performed on mothers of all children. Finally, Analysis of covariance and improvement percentage formula were used to analyze the data.
Results: The results showed a significant reduction in anxiety of children in the experimental group compared to the control group in post-test and follow-up (P <0.05). The results of clinical significance also showed that the anxiety of the experimental group significantly improved compared to the control group in the post-test and follow-up.
Conclusion: The program of Take Action is effective in improving the symptoms of children with anxiety. The results of this research and similar research can be used in fields of diagnostic and therapeutic of anxiety disorders in children.
