correcting of secondary control appraisals in patients with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and
comparing it with treatment based on correcting of inflated responsibility.
Method: The method of present study was quasi-experimental and pre-post test design was used. The
experimental groups contained treatment based on correcting of secondary control appraisalsgroup
(n=12) and treatment based on correcting of inflated responsibility group (n=15). Both groups
received ten two-hour group sessions once a week. In control group 13 patients participated. Yale

Data were analyzed using Multiple Covariance Analysis in SPSS.
Results: The results suggested that based on scores of YBOCS, OBQ-44 and BDI, both treatment
based on correcting of secondary control appraisals and treatment based on correcting of inflated
responsibility were significantly more effective than the wait list control conditionand treatment based
on correcting of secondary control appraisals significantly more effective than treatment based on
correcting of inflated responsibility in post-test and follow-up. This superiority maintained over the
1month follow-up.
Conclusion: According to the findings of present study, treatment based on correcting of secondary
control appraisals was more effective than treatment based on correcting of inflated responsibility in
treatment of patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder.
