Effectiveness of Mindful Self-compassion Training based on Islamic-Iranian Life Style on Psychological Distress and Emotional Efficacy in bereaved Survival of COVID-19

Abstract

Introduction: The present study aims to investigate the Effectiveness of Mindful Self-compassion Training based on Islamic-Iranian Life Style on Psychological Distress and Emotional Efficacy in bereaved Survival of COVID-19.
Method: The research design was a semi-experimental study with pre-test, post-test and three months follow-up period. The population of the study was all bereaved survival of COVID-19 in 2023. The research sample included 29 person, which were selected through the purposeful sampling method. The experimental group participated in the training for 16 sessions (each session 75 minutes). To assess the psychological distress, Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS-21), and for emotional efficacy, Emotional Efficacy Scale (EES-2) were used. Analysis of the variance with repeated measures was used to analyze of data.
Results: The results showed that mindful self-compassion training based on Islamic-Iranian life style significantly reduced psychological distress and increased emotional efficacy (P <0.001) and changes stable in follow up period.
Conclusion: Therefore, based on the findings, it is concluded that the current program training was effective in decrease psychological distress and improved emotional efficacy in survival of COVID-19.
