Introduction: Today, the coronavirus outbreak has become a major global crisis and has affected many countries, including Iran. One of the consequences of the coronavirus outbreak is the development of anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between corona anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder in housewives in Isfahan.
Method: The method of the present study was descriptive - correlational. Data collection tools were Maudsley Practical Obsession Questionnaire and Coronavirus Anxiety Scale. The statistical population of this study included housewives in Isfahan. The sampling method was simple random and the sample size was 100 people. Pearson correlation, standard deviation and mean statistical tests were used to analyze the data. It was done using software SPSS-21.
Results: The results showed that there was a significant positive relationship between corona anxiety (psychological symptoms) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (p<0.001, r = 0.41). also between corona anxiety (physical symptoms), and obsessive-compulsive disorder There was significant positive relation (p<0.001, r = 0.31).
Conclusion: According to the research findings, corona anxiety can be effective in the development of obsessive-compulsive disorder in housewives in Isfahan province.
